Fall Break

We weren't sure if we would be able to get away for fall break this year. Don had his surgery in September, and we really didn't think it was going to be possible.

So Friday came and school was out for a whole week. We had plans to stay around the house and see what kind of adventures we could have around here. Then...

Don surprised us and said he thought he would feel well enough to go to the beach. It would be relaxing, give him some time to rest, and get us out of the house. We were all excited!

Let me just say that Fall is now my favorite time to go to the beach!

The weather was beautiful, the beaches were beautiful, and it was not too crowded!

We played!

We relaxed!

The kids loved the "hot pool" as they called it!

And we were entertained!

We went to Gulf World one day and had the best time.

We saw every show they had!

The Sea Lion Show

The Dolphin Show
This was our favorite show by far. Jake was selected to help out with the show.
He was thrilled!
After the dolphin show, Jake went back stage (or tank) to have his pictured made with a dolphin.
Scout and Cole were too little and were disappointed, but since there weren't a lot of people, they let us all go back with Jake. After the photographer was done, we all got to go to the tank and pet the dolphins and talk with the trainers. It was really interesting.
After the dolphin show, we saw a bird show and a reptile show.
Scout actually touched this snake.
She thought nothing of it, just walked up to it and petted it.
I was too shocked to get a picture!
The rest of our week was spent playing on the beach, searching for treasure shells, and walking on the pier. I took the kids out on the pier by myself. We made it half way before I started getting nervous (those of you that know me, know I am a little scared of the ocean). I was able to get a few pictures before I made the kids turn back and walk very QUICKLY to land!

We really did have a great time. Lots of precious memories made!
