Tiny Dancer

Yesterday marked the beginning of a new year of dance! I am not sure who was more excited, me or Scout! :)

We had so much fun getting ready. Scout wanted to wear her blue ballet outfit because it looked like Cinderella's dress, and we put her hair up in a bun. She was beautiful!

I snapped a quick picture of her during dance class. Her teacher is Ms. Kathy. She's related to Gene Kelly, and that's why she named the studio Kelly School of Dance.

We are looking forward to a great year of dance.

I can't wait for the recital in the spring.

TGIF!

TGIF but I am so thankful for a wonderful week! This week marked the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year for Jake so we tried to do lots of fun stuff before school started on Thursday.

(Warning: Lots of Pictures!)

We "slid" into Monday playing outside on the slip in slide.

I promise no one was hurt in the above picture!

It was really hot, and the kids had a lot of fun.

Tuesday we hit the greens for a little putt-putt fun! It was HOT, but we had a great time.

We also had Jake's open house Tuesday night at his new school. Let's just say he was a little anxious about going somewhere new.

After a great open house, we went to one of Jake's favorite restaurants - Mexican Connection.

Wednesday, we went swimming at the Headland Country Club with Nanny, Connor, and Camille. We had the whole pool to ourselves and had a lot of fun.

After we went swimming, we went and got Jake a new fish for his fish tank.

Wednesday night we read one of my favorite books before starting back to school -
The Kissing Hand.

Thursday was Jake's first day of school. He really did good and had a great first day. The first thing he said when I picked him up was that he LOVED it.

And that leads us up to today - FRIDAY! Not sure what the day has in store for us, but hopefully, it will be wonderful! Happy Friday everyone!

First Day of School!

Jake started first grade this morning at a new school!
He was a little nervous, but he was such a big boy! The picture above was taken right before we left the house. He whispered to me that he was a little scared. It broke my heart, but I assured him that he would be fine.
There were a few tears - mostly from Jake :)
Jake did so good when we got to school. He went right in and sat at his desk.
He didn't cry at all!
After I dropped him off, I had to stop by to see the school nurse, and when I left I got to see him and his entire class on my way out. They had gone outside to take some pictures of the first day of school so I was able to get some precious first day pictures!
They were all so little and sweet.

A Much Needed Escape!

After a week of unpacking what seems like thousands of boxes,
I decided it was time for a much needed escape!
Plus the painter was coming back to finish painting! Wet paint and kids do not mix well! :)
So the kids and I loaded up the car and headed to the beach for the day!
It rained /flooded almost the entire way down to Panama City, and I thought about turning around several times. I am so glad I didn't!
It was a beautiful day at the beach!
The kids had so much fun playing in the water!

Jake enjoyed trying to catch fish and crabs! He LOVES the beach! It is his favorite place.

Cole loves playing in the water too.

Cole usually isn't too far behind Jake, and he is not scared of anything!

Just look at the big fish he caught! :)

While the boys were busy catching fish, Scout enjoyed looking for seashells.

We saw crabs, fish, and plenty of birds,
but there was one animal we surely didn't expect to see at St Andrews...
a raccoon!! Yes, that's right! A raccoon!

Despite all of the wildlife :), it was a great day at the beach!
It wasn't crowded, the weather was great, and the kids had a blast!

I wish we could go more often!
